GRADUATION SCULPTURES NAMED MORPH, SPINNERS AND MELTABLES
Morph Morph is static, Morph is fantastic, yet out of plastic. It has wings, it has blades. Sometimes it has stories to tell and sometimes it brings silence. Look into it, maybe you see transparency, maybe you see something no one has ever seen before. Morph had corona, so it morphs and morphs, and morphs. Don’t worry, morph is vaccinated with care and million hugs.
Spinners I spin my work right here right now, when you walk by, when you walk by. Signs and symbolic used are from two sources. One is from traditional latvian signs, yet there is trick. Trick is that I drew my own signs and symbols and that means – every spinning sculptures has its own energetic set up, that can bring different vibes to you. Signs are related to healing and protection. I want that visitors increase their level of aura, to recharge to get that feeling, that positive moment. Let go of negative thought. Second source is from LOL video game, character Sivir’s and Draven’s blade, conjucted together.
Meltables Remember that time when you danced and it was the best dance move ever? Every meltable is like group of people creating dance together, where it has been captured by plastic, metal and wood. For me, this work is reflection on my past wonders, when I danced traditional latvian dances. I remember joy and fulfillness that it brought to me, especially, when large collectives come together to perform one symbolic dance. Meltables are like these dance groups, every single one of them is set of smaller materials, where combined they perform.
